A4 ROAD PROJECT - GROUP C5 - what is in this folder ==================================================== A4_calculations.pdf Part 1 (vertical curves, every 5 m station), the cross-section working, Part 3 bonus (area of STA 0+225 by datum-line AND coordinate method, all areas, transition chainages, end-area volumes, check sheet). "Written work should be scanned" - copy it by hand onto paper if the marker wants handwriting; every number is in here. A4_sheet1_plan_profile.pdf DWG NO 1 - plan (1:300) + profile (H 1:200, V 1:20) A4_sheet2_cross_sections.pdf DWG NO 2 - BC, 0+220, 0+225, 0+230, 0+235, 0+240 A4_sheet3_cross_sections.pdf DWG NO 3 - 0+245, 0+250, EC (H 1:150, V 1:75) A4_GroupC5_road_project.dxf the CAD file. Model space + 3 layouts (PLAN-PROFILE, XS-1, XS-2). All colours/linetypes are by layer. HOW TO TURN THE DXF INTO THE .DWG YOU SUBMIT -------------------------------------------- 1. AutoCAD > Open > file type "DXF" > A4_GroupC5_road_project.dxf 2. SAVEAS > AutoCAD 2018 Drawing (*.dwg). Done - that is the .dwg to submit. 3. Title block: every sheet is signed "DRAWN BY / REVIEWED BY: RYAAN ELLAW #32". To use your own A2 title block instead, paste it over layers TITLE / TITLE-TEXT (60 mm wide at the right edge of a 420 x 297 mm sheet). 4. Plot each layout to PDF (PLOT > printer "DWG To PDF.pc3", paper A3, scale 1:1, plot area = Layout). Or just submit the three PDFs already here. MERGING WITH YOUR F6 C5 DWG (the field base map) ------------------------------------------------ The plan is drawn at the real F6 coordinates (X = Easting, Y = Northing, metres): pad corners, PI, BC, EC and control stations E and D are exactly where F6 put them. So: open the DXF, select everything on the PLAN-* layers in model space, COPYBASE with base point 0,0, switch to "F6 - Group C5.dwg", PASTECLIP at 0,0. It lands on top of your base map (Brescia Drive, Springett lot). Then either draw the road in the F6 file, or copy the base map the other way into the DXF. The key plan on each sheet is a small viewport onto the same model - it will show the base map too once it is pasted in. NOTE: the EC computed from R = 20.877 / I = 90 38'45" from your BC and tangent lands 0.136 m from the EC coordinate in your field book - that is your F6 layout rounding, not an error here; it is invisible at 1:300. DESIGN RULES USED (from the A4 sheet) ------------------------------------- - FG at BC and EC = existing ground, back/forward gradients 0 %, two vertical curves of LVC = L/2 with the middle gradient = 2g. - 2 % crossfall to the shoulder edge at 2.0 m; top of subgrade 0.35 below FG. - Asphalt 0.05 over the 1.0 m travelled lane each side, granular 2 x 0.15. - Topsoil 0.15 m stripped over the whole width; slopes daylight on the topsoil- removed line. - Cut: 3:2 down 1.00 m to the ditch at 3.5 m, then 2:1 backslope. Fill: 3:2. - Ground beyond the 5 m offset taken level at the 5 m elevation (same convention as last year's example calculation). - Areas: template (top of subgrade + slopes) vs topsoil-removed ground. Volumes by end-area with triangular prisms at the two transitions.
